The Sixteenth Tripartite Presidents Meeting among CRAES, NIES and NIER
President CHANG Yoon Seok expressed his gratitude and pleasure to meet CRAES and NIES with busy schedule in China. He had a positive impression from the deep discussion by researchers in Parallel Workshop. He made sure that their passion would be stepping stones towards better cooperation among the three institutes. He expressed that TPM16 was successful as the starting year based on TPM reform plan. Accordingly, he hoped that the shortened duration of TPM in the future can be an opportunity to encourage the participation of researchers. President CHANG in his keynote speech emphasized the role of NIER providing accuratc information properly, which is easy to understand, on environmental issues for the public. As part of efforts playing the role, he arranged four task force teams intensively focused on fine dust (particulate matter), algal bloom in freshwater, micro-plastic and emerging contaminants respectively. He believed that the task force teams composed of interdisciplinary researchers would give scientific inspiration to the researchers of CHANG, NIER and NIER. Last but the least, President CHANG was sure that great partnership among the three institutes will be maintained as the three institute has lasted the cooperative relation for 16 years.
